Loctite 277 Automotive Threadlocker

LOCTITE Threadlocker 277 is a high-strength adhesive designed for locking and sealing large bolts and studs 1" (25mm) or larger in diameter. Heat may be required to weaken the bond before parts can be disassembled. This red, high-strength, high-viscosity, methacrylate-based threadlocking adhesive has a fixture time of 30 minutes on steel, 25 minutes on brass, and 270 minutes on stainless steel, making it ideal for applications where the migration of the adhesive must be prevented. It can tolerate slight contaminations of industrial oils and is suited for large threads. The product fluoresces to allow for monitoring.

LOCTITE 277 is designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. It cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. Typical applications include the locking and sealing of large bolts and studs (M25 and larger).
